Walking On Eggshells

Do you ever feel like you are walking on eggshells in your relationships?

Maybe with your spouse, a hormonal teenager, or that “difficult” person in your life?

If we were to take that phrase literally, can you imagine actually walking through a slimy, shelly mess on the floor?

GROSS!

No thank you.

I don’t know about you, but I would clean up the mess instead of walking on it.

You can also pretend it’s not there and walk around it, but I don’t recommend that for many reasons.

When it comes to feeling this way in our relationships, we can clean up those messes as well.

We feel like we are walking on eggshells because we think we will upset the other person by doing or saying something wrong.

When we do this, we don’t show up confidently, we act weird, we read into what they are thinking, and this all makes the situation messier.

Our thoughts create our emotions, husbands thoughts create husbands emotions, hormonal teenagers thoughts create their emotions, etc.

Instead of focusing your attention on trying to control how the other person feels, which is out of your control, focus on what you can control…YOU!

How do you want to show up in this situation?

Who do you want to be?

If you choose to show up with love for the other person AND love for yourself, things will go much better, I promise. Unless you like walking through the mess or pretending it’s not there, I can help you clean up your relationships.
