Waiting to catch him in my trap…
Over the past decade, I have caught a few mice in my basement.
To be proactive, I set traps and made sure the food storage was all in airtight containers.
Every time I go into the basement, I always check the traps.
I am expecting something bad to happen.
I have a good reason to wonder if I will catch a mouse, because I have in the past.
I spend lots of time worrying and very little time finding anything in the traps.
Even though 99.9% of the time there is no mouse, I cause myself a lot of suffering dreading what I might find.
The funny thing is, if there actually was a mouse, I know exactly how to take care of the problem.
Worry is always a fear about the future.
It overestimates the likelihood of something bad happening and underestimates your ability to cope.
We rob ourselves of today's peace by worrying about all the what if’s of tomorrow.
What are you worrying about?
Are you causing yourself unnecessary suffering?
