Negative In Negative Out

As a coach, I am always helping my clients to look at how they are thinking affects how they feel.

Most of us think we feel the way we do because of what is going on around us.

For example: Traffic made me frustrated. The teacher called on me so I am embarrassed. It is snowing so I feel grouchy. My child got a tattoo so I am sad.

It is important to pay attention to our feelings.

Negative or uncomfortable feelings are an indicator that you are thinking a negative thought or uncomfortable thought.

There is nothing wrong with either of those, it is just good to remember that thoughts are optional and you don't have to keep thinking them.

Pay attention to thoughts like:

● I don’t like...

● I don’t want...

● That won’t work. . .

● I’ve never done it, so. . .

● It’s their fault. . .

● She did this to me. . .

Most of these thoughts will create an emotion that doesn't feel so great and they leave us feeling disempowered.

Give yourself you power back by recognizing you don't have to keep thinking thoughts that really don't serve you very well.
