Embracing Connection Over Conflict
In mixed faith relationships, the need to be "right" can sometimes take over.
We want our person to understand our perspective or even come back to our way of thinking.
But here’s the question I keep coming back to: Do you want to be right, or do you want to be connected?
There’s a quote that says, “A man convinced against his will is of the same opinion still.”
It’s so true, isn’t it?
Trying to force someone to see things our way rarely works.
In fact, it often creates more distance.
Instead of focusing on who's right, what if we leaned into understanding each other’s reasons for how we see the world?
That shift can open the door to more connection and peace in our relationships.
Here’s a challenge for this week: When the need to be right shows up, ask yourself, “What would connection look like in this moment?”
