Self Care Is NOT Selfish
One key way to protect our mental health is through self-care.
I used to think that self care was selfish.
I thought it was taking time away from my family and that it often didn't fit into my budget.
Now I know this couldn't be further from the truth and our Heavenly Parents know that as well.
Remember the scripture about not running faster than you have strength?
While it’s often seen as a luxury, self-care is actually something we all need to practice regularly.
It’s not about being selfish; it’s about making sure we’re in a good place so we can handle life’s challenges and support those around us.
If my hands are hanging down, I may not be in a good position to lift the hands of those around me.
Self-care is about taking intentional steps to care for your physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being.
This can look like eating well, connecting with a dear friend, exercising, setting boundaries with people, getting coached (I happen to know a fantastic life coach ;)) or simply giving yourself a break when you need one.
The point is to regularly check in with yourself and figure out what you need to feel balanced, healthy, and ready to take on the world.
Come back next week and I will share some great tips for you to consider.
